PERFORMING ARTS TOURS

Choir & Performing Arts Groups

Xplore Africa Tours has arranged various tours for all sizes of choir groups. Among others an all adult group of 96 people from the New Hampshire Friendship Chorus; 76 visitors from the Princeton University’s Glee Club;  40 students from the Eton College Chapel Choir.

Cultural Exchange is priority and therefore apart from accommodation, meals, transport and sightseeing, we also arrange formal and informal performances and concerts throughout the country. Many concerts are joint performances along with local choir groups with the same interest. Performances are varied to include a wide spectrum, from concerts at main university auditoriums to an open air amphitheatre on the Cape Town V & A Waterfront. From primary schools in underprivileged areas to local church congregations. (For a full list of South African choirs we have collaborated with, please contact us.)

The pace of these tours are usually quite fast, but still includes the main tourist attractions of our beautiful country, such as Kruger National Park, the Garden Route, and Cape Town.

Accommodation is comfortable and well located with two, three or four people to a room, depending on the specific budget.

Excursions are energetic, exciting and highly knowledgeable.

Transport is with luxury air-conditioned coaches

Special   features:

Apart of the joint performances with local choirs, we also arrange for special quality time for interactions during joint dinners for the performing choirs. Each tour also includes at least one musical-workshop with a local choir and conductor. We feel it is important for visiting- and local choirs learn from one another and experience the differences and similarities we have.

Special excursions include: a night safari in open vehicles where groups have the opportunity to search for nocturnal animals by spotlight; the chance to ride an ostrich - the largest bird on earth; enjoying breakfast at a fresh produce market; and hike down Table Mountain, to name but a few.

Unique informal performances, with the objective to meet interesting people and make new friends, are arranged at a small orphanage, a local school in an informal settlement and at a Home for the old aged.

Most groups consist of student choir members and accompanying adults. Accommodation is varied and can be adjusted to suite each specific group’s budget and requirements.
